New Balance is urging cricketers from around the world to ‘Own the Moment’ as they strive towards success in 2019.  The brand’s global cricket campaign, which will feature engaging content across digital platforms, is set to focus on individual athletes and provide fans with unique access into how they handle some of the most pressurized moments the sport of cricket has to offer.

Cricketers from South Africa, featuring the likes of Dale Steyn, David Miller, Imran Tahir and Chris Morris, will play a leading part in the campaign as they work towards greatness this year.

Katharine Stewart, Marketing Manager, New Balance South Africa commented, “In cricket, fine margins can decide huge outcomes and success or failure comes down to moments of character. It’s all about how you take your opportunities and how you react to situations that ultimately determines your, and your nation’s, success.  That is the essence of ‘Own the Moment.’ In the past, we have been astounded by the level of commitment and preparation New Balance athletes put in before tournaments or games.  We’re thus immensely proud to be able to launch a global campaign which both drives them towards success and which will also give fans unique insight into what it takes to achieve success when facing cricket’s ultimate test.”

Own the Moment’ is set to feature interviews with some of the country’s top cricketers, giving insight into past moments that have defined them and how they are working towards further defining moments.  It will also offer a behind the scenes view, direct from the players themselves, of their journey – from training, to mental preparation to diary updates the content will be the likes of which is rarely seen by cricket fans.

“2019 is the biggest moment of my career so far and will be for the majority of ODI cricketers, added Dale Steyn.  On the biggest stage, every moment matters.  Every training session and every second in the lead-up to and around matches can be the difference between winning and losing.  We are already in full preparation mode to enable us to own every moment in 2019.  I am really looking forward to the opportunity to allow fans into this process, we value the support they give us and are thus excited to give them a taste of what it takes to succeed on the world stage.  I would like to thank New Balance for their continuous backing and assure the people of South Africa that I’m doing all I can to help lead the team to victory,” he concluded.

To follow the likes of Dale Steyn, Aaron Finch, Joe Root and Trent Boult as they strive to, search #OwnTheMoment on Twitter or Instagram and like New Balance Cricket on Facebook.  For more on New Balance’s cricket range, go to www.newbalance.com.
